Summer camp 2026: Bioresources – production, renewable and conservation

Are you ready to explore the modernity and beauty of Vietnam while gaining cutting-edge scientific knowledge? Join the International student week hosted by the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Ton Duc Thang University.


Program highlights

Tentative itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and welcome

  • 14:00 – 16:00: Arrival in Vietnam at the Tan Phong campus, Ton Duc Thang University and dormitory check-in.

  • 16:00 – 18:00: Campus tour and site visit to regional problem locations.

  • 20:00: Welcome party.

Day 2: Classroom activities

  • 07:00 – 09:30: Understanding traditional knowledge in Vietnam: overview of local culture and heritage systems.

  • 08:30 – 11:00: Bioremediation: microbes cleaning our world.

  • 11:00 – 12:00: Genetic rescue: preserving global biodiversity.

Day 3: Field trip

  • 09:00 – 18:00: Visit Can Gio Mangrove Forest for an evolutionary and ecological physiology field trip.

Day 4: Renewable sources and biotechnology

  • 07:00 – 09:00: Biomass and residues: renewable sources for bioenergy and biomaterials.

  • 09:30 – 11:30: Mushroom cultivation and applications of spent substrates in biotechnology and environment.

Day 5: Competition and gala

  • 08:00 – 10:00: Competition presentations.

  • 18:00 – 20:00: Gala dinner.

  • 22:00: Return home.


Registration and fees

  • Time: June – August 2026.

  • Fee: USD $ 200 per student.

  • Inclusions: The fee includes airport pick-up and drop-off, courses, weekday lunches, accommodation, local insurance, field trips, and the welcome party.
