TDTU Faculty of Applied Sciences Students Excellently Win First Prize at National VietFuture Awards 2026

At the VietFuture Awards 2026 Announcement and Honoring Ceremony held on September 18, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, two students, Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thu and Nguyen Le Minh Thu (majoring in Organic Materials, Faculty of Applied Sciences, TDTU), under the guidance of Dr. Tran Hoai Khang, excellently surpassed hundreds of nationwide nominations to win the FIRST PRIZE overall.

1. A Journey to Conquering the Award with Competence and Knowledge

At VietFuture Awards 2026, the student team consisting of Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thu and Nguyen Le Minh Thu (Organic Materials major, Faculty of Applied Sciences) represented Ton Duc Thang University with a highly practical research project. Under the dedicated guidance and academic direction of advisor Dr. Tran Hoai Khang, the team continuously refined their idea, enhanced its scientific rigor, and optimized the practical applicability of their solution.

Overcoming rigorous preliminary rounds, the project from the lecturer and students of the Faculty of Applied Sciences successfully impressed the expert panel to advance to the National Final Round.

2. VietFuture Awards 2026 – A Prestigious National Innovation Playground

VietFuture Awards is an annual award organized by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), targeting innovative startup projects, R&D projects, and student research with high application and commercialization potential.

The year 2026 marks the 4th season with an expanded nationwide scale:

• Bringing together 144 projects and 201 nominations from 36 universities and colleges.

• Over 800 students competing across 14 technology and application fields.

To reach the top position, projects underwent a comprehensive evaluation framework, including originality and creativity, practicality, commercialization feasibility, market potential, technology foundation, team capacity, as well as the quality of documentation and presentation.

At the National Final Round held on September 17–18, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, teams pitched and demonstrated their projects directly to the Evaluation Board while participating in exhibitions connecting with businesses. The official Announcement and Honoring Ceremony took place on September 18, 2026.

3. Inspiring Scientific Research Passion Among Students

The First Prize at VietFuture Awards 2026 is a meaningful recognition of the serious research spirit and perseverance of students Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thu and Nguyen Le Minh Thu, alongside the dedicated guidance of Dr. Tran Hoai Khang.

This outstanding achievement is not only a source of pride for the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Ton Duc Thang University, but also continues to inspire students to boldly research, innovate, and bring scientific ideas from lecture halls closer to reality and the community.
