Welcome to the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS) at the Ton Duc Thang University. FAS was established in 2001 with only one department of Chemical Engineering. In 2004, FAS opened one more department of Biotechnology. In 2008, FAS being as one of the first two faculties started the postgraduate training. Currently, FAS has 62 members including 08 professors, 02 assistant professors, 25 doctors, 10 lectures taking the doctoral course and 17 masters. The number of staff will be continuously increased following our development. All members are always looking to improve their specialization as well as the innovation of teaching methods and encourage students to have interaction with other students and lecturers, which will result in excellent teamwork skills and students’ responsible attitudes in their future career. In addition, the lecturers always positively participate in volunteer activities as well as scientific activities with students. All programs in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology have been standardized according to the programs of 100 top world universities and advanced in training, together with proper methods and practical experiments.

Students are trained not only with deep professional knowledge but also with proper laboratory skills, practical knowledge from meetings, internships or exchanges with businesses in production facilities. Faculty of Applied Sciences has been invested in facilities and equipment for research and teaching which are not only modern but also very comfortable and convenient; well-equipped labs are located at the 5th floor of the C building such as biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, analytical chemistry, inorganic materials, general chemistry, and specialized research labs.
