Workshop "Sustainable agriculture, ecosystem and the future research opportunities.”
The workshop aims to close the research project cooperation between Stockholm University, Sweden and Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam, titled “ Quantifying the trade-offs between ecosystem service provision and water management in rice systems” in An Giang province, Vietnam.
On December 01 – 02, 2022, the Faculty of Applied Science and Department of Physical Geography, Stockholm University organized a workshop with titled workshop “Sustainable agriculture, ecosystem and future research opportunities” the purpose of this workshop was expected to share the achieved results of a project that have been carried out in An Giang and to create the excellent opportunity for the scientists and researchers from regional, national and international institutes and universities, together with many stakeholders (including rice farmers, local managers and policymakers) to discuss and exchange the new ideas to develop new collaborative projects in the future.
The workshop attracted many scientists, lecturers, researchers, students from Ton Duc Thang University and project members from Stockholm University, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and other researchers of Ho Chi Minh the City University of Technology, An Giang University, Can Tho University, Kien Giang University, Dong Thap University, Tien Giang University and other stakeholders (including rice farmers, local managers and policymakers).
The workshop has generated the interest of scientists and stakeholders across the Mekong Delta, and the expected outcome was achieved very successfully for future collaboration.
