The “Student Startup Ideas – UNIV STAR 2025” competition

Student Ngo Van Tien – Major in Organic Materials, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Ton Duc Thang University, excellently surpassed hundreds of ideas to win Third Prize at the “Student Startup Ideas – UNIV STAR 2025” competition
The “Student Startup Ideas – UNIV STAR 2025” competition is an international-scale startup arena, initiated in 2023 with the collaboration of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science & Technology, Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Startup Center (SIHUB), Jeonbuk Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (JBCCEI – Korea), Jeonbuk National University, and KORETOVIET. In 2025, the competition once again affirmed its prestige as a bridge for startup collaboration between Vietnamese and Korean students, attracting more than 203 projects from 37 domestic universities along with many Korean student groups, creating a “knowledge playground” rich in competitiveness and international integration.

Amidst hundreds of innovative startup ideas presented, student Ngo Van Tien, majoring in Organic Materials at the Faculty of Applied Sciences – Ton Duc Thang University, brilliantly affirmed his capabilities by achieving Third Prize. This accomplishment is a testament to the perseverance, creative thinking, and ability to transform scientific knowledge into practical solutions of the young Vietnamese generation.
Overcoming more than 200 projects, including many ideas from leading universities and international students, created a strong ripple effect. This achievement not only highlights Ngô Văn Tiến’s outstanding research and creativity but also affirms that Vietnamese students can confidently compete and shine on international stages.
Tien’s project particularly impressed the judging panel thanks to its combination of a solid foundation in materials science and high applicability, opening new directions for research and technology-based entrepreneurship in the future.
This success contributes to affirming Ton Duc Thang University as a cradle for training, nurturing, and empowering young talents who are always ready for international integration. At the same time, Ngo Van Tien’s award spreads the spirit of daring to think – daring to act – daring to innovate, inspiring Vietnamese students who are eager to assert themselves on their creative startup journey.
