The career orientation event for students by alumni of the Faculty of Applied Sciences
To help students of the Faculty of Applied Sciences gain a better understanding of their chosen fields of study and receive guidance for their future careers after graduation, the Faculty organized a career orientation and networking event on the morning of December 19, 2024, featuring distinguished alumni.
Alumni participants included:
- Mr. Huỳnh Thanh Lưu, alumnus of the 5th cohort, Director of LABone Scientific Equipment Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Nguyễn Văn Huẩn, alumnus of the 10th cohort, Director of INDOBIO Biochemical Materials Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Lê Quốc Thịnh, alumnus of the 10th cohort, Director of HTV Co., Ltd.
- Ms. Trần Kiều Yến Như, alumna of the 16th cohort, Director of MS.NHU FAST ENGLISH Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Hứa Minh Quân, alumnus of the 16th cohort, Department Head at STEMax Education JSC.
- Ms. Phạm Thị Hoài Ân, alumna of the 17th cohort, Business Director at Phạm Gia Chemicals Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Phạm Văn Thông, alumnus of the 17th cohort, Phạm Gia Chemicals Co., Ltd.
- Ms. Trần Thị Ngọc Trâm, alumna of the 17th cohort, Phú Gia Medical Trading Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Nguyễn Trương Khánh Hiệp, alumnus of the 17th cohort, Technician at Nam Dương International Food Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Đặng Hoài Khanh, alumnus of the 18th cohort, Specialist at Wilmar Marketing Co.
- Mr. Phạm Quốc Tuấn, alumnus of the 19th cohort, R&D Specialist at ABT Equipment Co., Ltd.
- Ms. Thái Thanh Ngân, alumna of the 22nd cohort, Department Head at M&T International Trading and Services Co., Ltd.
The event also welcomed numerous students and recent graduates who joined to listen and engage in discussions about career paths.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Bùi Anh Võ, a lecturer and alumni coordinator of the Faculty, highlighted the importance of the event. This meeting connects different generations of students, allowing current students to envision the challenging journey that alumni have overcome to achieve their present success. Students can learn from these experiences to adopt the right mindset and better prepare for life after graduation.
Mr. Huỳnh Thanh Lưu introduced LABone, a company founded by an alumnus of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, which operates effectively in the field he studied. The company also sponsored alumni scholarships for students who excel academically despite financial difficulties this semester.
The scholarship recipients expressed their gratitude and promised to keep striving. They also thanked the alumni for taking the time to provide career guidance and insights into future opportunities.
The lively Q&A session saw nearly 40 questions from current students and recent graduates. Most of the questions focused on career opportunities after graduation, concerns about what to study and how to prepare for the future, English preparation and studying abroad, as well as emerging career trends in the biotechnology industry..
The alumni offered practical and detailed advice, addressing concerns and providing valuable guidance to the students.
The lively discussion seemed to fly by. Students received valuable advice, had their questions answered, and gained a clearer understanding of the field they were studying, leaving them feeling more confident and happier with their choices.
Representatives from the Faculty of Applied Sciences presented gifts and thank-you letters to the alumni and took a commemorative photo. The alumni also mingled afterward to strengthen the bonds between generations.
