Workshop "Dialogue on the linkages between aquatic animal food consumption, human health and environmental ecology in Vietnam”

During the period from March 12th to March 15th, 2023, at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Faculty of Applied Science and the University of Stirling, UK, organized a workshop titled workshop: "Dialogue on the linkages between aquatic animal food consumption, human health and environmental ecology in Vietnam."
The workshop aimed to provide a great meeting opportunity for many scientists, researchers and students from regional and international institutes and universities together with many stakeholders (including the international and national NGOs, aquaculture and seafood export enterprises, fishery and agriculture managers, and policymakers) for dialogue, discussion, exchange and develop the new research idea for the future cooperation under the international project (Engaging with One Health: Translating perceptions around aquatic and terrestrial animal consumption in Vietnam).
The workshop organized the entire day of the field trip for 07 delegates from the University of Stirling, UK and researchers of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of Ton Duc Thang University to visit the seafood Market of Binh Dien and the Fish processing company and fish farms of Vinh Hoan Corporation company in Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province. The purpose of this field trip was to help all delegations better understand the seafood market operation, the operation of seafood retailers, aquatic food consumption, and the aquatic food perception of Vietnam. That information would be very interesting for discussion during the workshop.      
The workshop has generated the interest of scientists and stakeholders across the Mekong Delta, and the expected outcome was successfully achieved for future collaboration. Moreover, the two institutes also discussed many cooperative opportunities in the exchange of lecturers/students, especially since we have agreed to cooperate in implementing the new projects in the future after this workshop.
