Biotechnology program accreditation
In March 2021, the Biotechnology Department was accredited by the AUN-QA organization and awarded the AUN quality certification, valid for five years (Link).
To ensure the quality of teaching and learning, and to continuously improve the quality of instruction and research, the Biotechnology Department, under the Faculty of Applied Sciences, has planned a re-accreditation to meet international and regional quality standards.
Biotechnology is a applied science and technology such as molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, and engineering to create industrial-scale technological processes. These processes exploit the biological activities of microorganisms, animal and plant cells to produce valuable bio-products for human life.
Biotechnology is applied in various processes — from beer production, wastewater management, crop improvement, biofuel, vaccine production, drug design, and gene therapy. The global increasing population together with the increasing human and social demands, the biotechnology industry has offered abundant career opportunities for society. There are 3 major education fields in Biotechnology undergraduate program at Ton Duc Thang University;
- Agricultural Biotechnology
- Food technology
- Biomedical Sciences
The Biotechnology Department has completed writing Self-Assessment Report (SAR) according to AUN-QA standards and will undergo re-accreditation in December 2025.
