Memorable experience of Biotechnology students in Taiwan

Recently, 61 high-quality students K22-K24 and 09 undergraduate students in English K23-K24 majoring in Biotechnology under the Faculty of Applied Sciences participated in a career internship in the beautiful island nation of Taiwan. In which, undergraduate students in English can practice at Taipei Medical University (TMU) for two months from June 5 to August 1, 2023, and high-quality students can experience at National Yang-Ming Chiao-Tung University (NYCU) for one month from July 3 to July 29, 2023. The strong cooperation and linkage between TDTU and the two universities TMU and NYCU have created conditions for students to have the opportunity to study and experience one of the most developed countries in Asia, from which students can get a more realistic view of their industry.
At TMU and NYCU, students are accommodated in 5-star dormitories with fully equipped facilities, taught by a team of experienced professors and visiting professors with long practical professional experiences invited to share their knowledge. Learning and communicating in English help students improve their foreign language and communication skills. Besides, in addition to the weekdays, students are organized by two universities to go on field trips to leading Biotechnology Companies in Taiwan, such as SuperLab, Kavalan. On weekends, students also have the opportunity to learn about Taiwanese culture, traditions and cuisine with activities with students and locals, and visit cultural and historical sites in the country. These can be mentioned as online Chinese classes, learning to make Taiwanese dumplings, Hakka Blue Dye, pottery making, visiting cultural villages and learning about specialties in art, music and cuisine, etc.
The trip has brought back memorable memories for the students when learning and practicing on modern biotechnology equipment as well as having cultural exchanges with international friends at the two universities. And one thing that students say to each other as soon as they return home is that they have already begun to miss Taiwan!
